![]() If you have fixed this issue before, let me know how to proceed. ![]() Searching around, it looks like USB 3 is a common issue with Windows 8.1, yet I couldn't have it working long enough to properly back up my system to the external USB 3 hard drive that works flawlessly in any other SO. I had those ports working on Windows 7 and they even work somehow good in Windows 8 (yet the devices often disconnected randomly while copying files and such). The device manager then shows a problem with the controller and all of the USB 3 ports in my laptop just quit working (not even in USB 2 mode) until I reboot the computer. The details page shows it working, but whenever a USB 3 device it's attached, the device works well for around 5 min and then the ports "hard resets" themselves.
